Barrel Aged Soy Old Fashioned
We've had a Tamari Old Fashioned on the menu at Momofuku Ssäm Bar for years. This limited-edition Barrel Aged Soy Sauce falls right in line with a version that can easily be made at home thanks to our Beverage Director, Haera Shin, who conceptualized this spirit-forward and savory cocktail.
In case you didn't get your hands on our now sold out Barrel Aged Soy Sauce, you can swap that with our Soy Sauce or Tamari.

INGREDIENTS
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 1 barspoon simple syrup
- 4-5 shakes of Momofuku Barrel Aged Soy Sauce. If you don't have this, swap in with Momofuku Tamari or Momofuku Soy Sauce
- 3 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
- 2 dashes The Japanese Umami Bitters (optional)
Directions
Build your drink with the bourbon, 1 bar spoon of simple syrup, bitters, and 4-5 shakes (about 1/2 teaspoon) of the Momofuku Barrel Aged Soy sauce. Then add ice and mix. Also pour over a large ice cube in an Old Fashioned glass and serve with a citrus peel.
